Beckham Not Go to Great Britain Olympic Squad


David Beckham had to bury his desire to defend Great Britain competed in the 2012 Olympics. His name was not on the list released by coach Stuart Pearce.

After deciding to retire from the England national team, Olympic Games 2012 will be Beckham's last chance to defend his country. Several times the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan's expressed a desire to strengthen the UK football team.

Poor him, coach Stuart Pearce chose to enter the name of defender Micah Richards in the squad as one of three senior players are allowed to participate. Two other senior players are Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy.

Beckham had previously been in the list of 35 players while the Great Britain squad. But in the final list is then released, 36 years old midfielder's name is no longer listed. Thus quoted from DailyMail.

"Everyone knows how much it meant I could play for his country. So I was honored to be part of the Great Britain team is unique," said Beckham.

"Naturally I was disappointed, but I'll be the biggest supporter for the team. And like others, I will help them win a gold medal," said Beckham
