He called Sterling which is the Jamaican-born Theo Walcott after the injury. Hodgson was hoping calling young British talent could provide valuable experience.

"This is a great opportunity to invite young players and feel this great atmosphere. Squad always open for young players," said Hodgson told guardian.co.uk, Tuesday (11/09/2012).

Sterling is actually not the first young British player who was entrusted to strengthen the squad for the Three Lions. Britain's youngest ever player to starter is Wayne Rooney 2-0 win against Turkey in April 2003 at the age of 17 years 160 days.

Meanwhile, the youngest player ever to play for the Three Lions is Theo Walcott. Arsenal winger gets his first caps in May 2006 at the age of 17 years 65 days 3-1 win to face Hungary.

Sterling was born in Jamaica, and then at age 10 he and his family moved to London when he was 10 years old. In London Sterling joined the academy Queen Park Rangers (QPR).

In over 14 years, he did not just play for the team under the age of 18, but also a leader for QPR supporters group for young teams. Since that time, Sterling talent to be a great player began.

One year later, Sterling began memikiat a big English clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United. But in January 2010, Liverpool managed to get signatures Sterling with a contract value of five million pounds.
Sterling then diving debut with the Reds in pre-season friendly match against Borussia Monchengladbach in August 2010. At that time Sterling was 10 years of age.

Starting the 2012-2013 season, the introduction of coach Brendan Rodgers as the savior tactic of the Reds gave blessing to Sterling. Former Swansea City coach did not hesitate to give the 17-year-old player.

At the national team level, talent Sterling actually began ogled by England coach Stuart Pearce juniors. Pearce has been monitoring the movement of the wing players in the U-21 England in Euro 2013 qualifying.

England at the time managed to defeat Azerbaijan by a score of 2-0. Sterling has been playing for 65 minutes for the U-19 squad where they lost 3-1 to Germany in Hamburg last Thursday.

Polemic ensued with the status of the contested British Sterling and Jamaica. Sterling, who was born in Kingston, has represented England at the time he was in school, U-17 and U-19, but the international eligibility rules allow a player to switch citizenship between junior level and senior level.
Jamaica coach Theodore Whitmore has stated that he has tried to persuade the striker to leave England and play for the country of his birth.

"We have shown previous interest in Sterling and we are only waiting for the approval of the players," said Whitmore on STAR Sports.

Now that the senior England national team call Sterling almost certain 17-year-old British belong entirely. This is a golden opportunity to become the new star Sterling the Three Lions.
