2014 World Cup host Brazil have selected endangered animals, armadillo or anteater, as a mascot.
Armadillo of type Tolypeutes tricinctus a species endemic in Brazil and the natural environment is threatened with extinction due to dwindling residence.
Determination of mascots was announced by former Brazilian national team striker, Ronaldo, in a TV show on Sunday (16/09) night.
"Mascot will play the role of ambassador within the next two years," said Ronaldo reveals mascot, was quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.
"I'm sure he will be an inspiration to many young football fans in Brazil and around the world with fun for football and his country," added the striker who strengthen Brazil's third World Cup.
Brazilian armadillo original color is light brown, but is used as a mascot with green eyes yellow and blue backs.
The three colors that are present in the color of the flag of Brazil, and armadillo mascot wearing a white T-shirt bearing the Brazil 2014 holding the ball in his hands.

However, no names were given to the mascot and FIFA said Brazil still has until mid-November to choose three names: Amijubi, Fuleco and Zuzeco.
FIFA Secretary General, Jerome Valcke, welcomed the mascot to reflect these endangered animals.
"One of the main objectives of the 2014 World Cup is using the event as a platform to communicate the importance of the environment and ecology," he said in a statement.
The use of animals as mascots World Cup already happened several times, including at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with a leopard named Zakumi mascot.
Previous French use rooster who played football as a mascot for the 1998 World Cup in England in 1996 and chose to wear a lion with flag United Kingdom and was named World Cup Willie.
